British Superbike Superstock 600cc class leader Kyle Ryde was given the chance of a wild card ride in the Blue Riband class of ‘Supersport’ 600 at this Dutch Grand Prix circuit.
This higher class of 600cc racing machines is the showcase for future stars and the likes of Moto GP riders Carl Crutchlow and Sam Lowes have both been previous winners in this class.
Ryde showed good composure to Kyle qualified in eighth place on the grid among the 40 riders out there on circuit.
In the first of the two races was in the front group pressing for a top five place, but he managed to pursue these hard-riding professionals and came home in a terrific seventh place in his first ever Supersport race.
The second race was a very similar scenario. However the leading bunch managed to break away and Kyle was left to do battle with Irishman Seeley, fighting him off for sixth place until on the last few laps.
The Ulsterman got the better of the young rider and again Kyle managed to cross the line in a very respectable seventh place.
