The goals are once again flowing for Derby County as they followed up their 5-0 trouncing of Nottingham Forest with a 3-0 cruise against strugglers Charlton Athletic.
The result at the iPro also strengthened the Rams’ grip on one of the promotion play-off spots.
Goals from Johnny Russell, Patrick Bamford and Chris Martin, who broke his recent drought, secured a comfortable win, meaning Derby now have an 11-point cushion between themselves and seventh placed Forest.
It prompted boss Steve McClaren to declare: “There’s a good balance to the team which has shown its mettle and quality.”
Charlton came closest to breaking the deadlock in the early stages when Reza Ghoochannejhad hit one from the edge of the box, forcing Grant to make his first save.
But the home crowd were celebrating 18 minutes in when Bamford found Russell to turn and strike home.
The former then made it 2-0 seven minutes before the break..
Top scorer Martin then bagged his 19th of the campaign to put the icing on the cake six minutes from time.
