Kimberley Swimming Club members have put in impressive displays in the Notts ASA Age Group County Championships, which came to an end last Sunday.
The championships were held across three weekends in March, the first in Mansfield and the final two at the Beechdale Swimming Centre in Nottingham.
Kimberley’s Matthew Shipley was the toast of the club as he became county champion in the 12yrs age group, whilst there were also overall top three finishes for Jessica Shepherd (2nd) and Livia Kingsland (3rd) in the 9yrs category, Imogen Spouge and Jimi Knowles in the 10yrs category and Joseph Kingsland in the 11yrs age group.
There were also county champions in the 9/10 yrs boys freestyle realay team of Josh Skinner, Matthew Fearn, Ted Goonan-Dunne and Jimi Knowles.
The final weekend specifically saw the 50m breastroke and 100m individual medley events take place.
In the 50m breastroke, there were top ten finishes in their respective age groups for Kimberley’s Jimi Knowles (4th), Thomas Ellis (5th), Matthew Shipley (3rd), Joseph Kingsland (6th), Imogen Spouge (3rd) and Charly Neilson, who finished first in the 13/14yrs category.
In the 100m Individual Medley, Matthew Shipley was the winner in the 11/12 yrs category, while there were also top six spots for Jimi Knowles (2nd), Joseph Kingsland (4th), Imogen Spouge (5th) and Eleanor Aboutarab (6th).
As well as those earning overall top three places in their age groups, Thomas Reeves finished eighth overall in the 9yrs category, while Eleanor Aboutorab and Ted Goonan-Dunne were seventh in the 10yrs category along with Lauren Shipley who was ninth.
Bradley Francis was fifth in the 11yrs age group with Chloe Bis ninth, while Charly Neilson finished fifth overall in the 14yrs age group.
