Swimmers star in Open

Kimberley SC were in action at the Arnold and Mansfield Open Meet last weekend and members achieved several top three spots.

Jimi Knowles (9-year age group) was second in the 200m free, while Ted Goonan-Dunne (9yrs) was second in the 200m back and third in the 200m breast.

Bradley Francis (10yrs) won the 100m free and 200m back, and was second in the 200m IM and 200m free. Joseph Kingsland (10yrs)was second in the 200m breast and third in the 200m IM , 100m breast and 200m back.

Imogen Spouge (9yrs) was winner of the 200m free, IM and breast, and third in the 200m fly, while Eleanor Aboutorab was second in the 200m breast, and third in the 200m free, back and IM in the same age group. Ten-year-old Chloe Bis was third in the 100m fly and free, and Jade Duffy (14yrs) was third in the 100m fly.

Several Kimberley swimmers won their age groups in the club’s novice gala.

They were: Daniel Cole/Amy Aboutorab (5yrs), Cormac Maher/Isobell Shephard (6yrs), Dan Everall/Ruby Pocock (7yrs), Isaac Morledge/Jessica Reeves (8yrs 25m events), William Francis/Livia Kingsland (8yrs 50m events), Josh Wakelin/Nya Sanderson (9yrs 25m events), Daniel Marriott/Erin Dixon (9yrs 50m events), Ciaran Smith/Emma Stevenson (10yrs), Aaron Stanley/Charlotte Chester (11yrs) and Catherine Sanders (12yrs).

Top Boy was Dan Everall and Top Girl was shared by Nya Sanderson and Isobell Shephard.

Meanwhile, nine-year-old Joshua Skinner has gained a place in the Notts development squad, Nova Centurion, following his recent trial.
