Whites prove too hot for Bingham

Priory Celtic round-up.

It was a busy morning at the Leisure Centre on Saturday as five Priory teams played host.

The U7s played a very good AFC Vernon team with Lewis Edwards winning the man-of-the-match award, while Ben Spencer won the U8 Whites’ award in their game against Calverton.

The U10 Whites fell behind early but beat Bingham Town 4-2, goals from Jake Flowers, Gabriel Dawson and a brace from TG, while the U12 Whites beat Bingham 5-2 thanks to Christopher Jameson, Josh Leondhart and a hat-trick from Robbie Horsely.

The U9 Whites won 3-2 over Attenborough Colts, Tommy Reeves (2) and man of the match Jake Lawes with the goals.

The U8 Greens travelled to Rolls Royce, Harrison Frearson claiming the man of the match award, while the U9 Greens lost by the odd goal in five at Wollaton Sports, Bobby Watson (2) and Theo Simmonds scoring for the Greens.

The U10 Greens won 3-1 at Calverton, a brace for Harvey Jefferies and a Tom Hutton strike seeing them on their way.

On Sunday, the U11s fell 6-0 at Gotham Rangers, while the U13s also lost to Gotham, 2-1.

The U12 Greens lost 3-2 to Long Eaton United – both goals from Christopher Huskisson.

The U14s drew 3-3 in a top-of-the-table clash with Beeston Centurions, Denis Surmaj with a hat-trick.

Both the U16s and U18s had League Cup games with mixed fortune – the U18s had Michael Thomas scoring both in a 2-1 win over Aslockton Cranmers, but the U16s lost 2-0 at Arnold Town.

The U12 Girls visited Derby County and though they lost put in a great performance.

Meanwhile, Priory’s U7s have been sponsored to the tune of £150 thanks to the ‘New Adams Apple’ greengrocer on Main Street, Kimberley. The club wish to thank owner Dave Marchant for his kind donation.
