The Long Eaton-based St.John’s Players drama group will be serving up a double helping of fun with two one-act comedy plays.
Stalwart Dave Brown will be directing both Background Artiste and The Fat Lady Sings, as well as performing along with a cast of just seven.
The group, which was formed in the 1950s, will be performing the plays in St.John’s Church Hall on Canal Street, from Thursday, October 17, to Saturday, October 19, at 7.30pm each night.

n Saturday Morning Moves is the name of the creative and colourful movement sessions for little ones at Derby Theatre.
Starting on October 12, at 10.30am, under fives and a parent/carer can visit the theatre and take part.
Saturday Morning Moves will provide under fives with the chance to explore moving and dancing with exciting props and great music.
The sessions will be led by Oksana Tyminska, who has over 20 years’ experience of running creative movement classes, dancing with children, parents and teachers.
Oksana has also co-led training initiatives for Sure Starts, councils, the National Dance Teachers Association, as well as a great number of early years’ settings.
The sessions are fun and will help children to develop their body awareness, selfconfidence and social skills.
Future sessions are on November 9 and December 14.
