Autumn exhibition spotlights local art

Explore the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness with an autumn-inspired art exhibition at Belper Mill this month.

The mill is hosting Whispers of Autumn, a 10x10 art exhibition from The Cherry Orchard art gallery.

The exhibition features 24 works of art by local artists from the Belper Arts Collaborative. Each one measures 10” x 10” but has a different personal take on the theme of autumn.

Suzanne Parnell from The Cherry Orchard said: “There is a large and hugely talented number of artists in and around Belper. In forming the collaborative we have given them an umbrella under which to operate and also to work together and contribute to the local community by sharing their artistic skills.

“Encouraging local artists and crafters adds important value to the community especially at a time when Belper is taking such great strides forwards.

The exhibition is now at the North Mill which is an ideal location placing the history of Belper alongside its cultural present.”

Entry to the exhibition is free but a donation to the upkeep of the mill would be appreciated.

The exhibition will run at the mill until October 27.
