Derby arts centre and cinema Quad are offering the chance to step back in time during June and July with a season of classic re-issued films called Back in Cinemas.
The films will screen every Wednesday and Thursday in June and July at the venue, based in the city centre.
Journey To Italy from 1954, is a deceptively simple tale of a bored English couple travelling to Italy to find a buyer for a house they have inherited. The Italian film is transformed by director Roberto Rossellini and starring George Sanders and Ingrid Bergman, into a passionate story of cruelty and cynicism. Journey To Italy (PG with English subtitles), screens on Wednesday, June 19, at 6pm and Thursday 20th June at 8.30pm.
The King Of Marvin Gardens, from 1972, stars Jack Nicholson and Bob Rafelson and is a classic of early ‘70s cinema. The film is relationship drama is about two brothers from very different walks of life, who team up to embark on a series of get-rich-quick schemes.
The King Of Marvin Gardens (15) screens on Wednesday, June 26, at 6pm and Thursday, June 27, at 3.30pm.
