Wings film to take flight on big screen

Broadcast for the first time in full in a UK cinema, Showcase Cinema de Lux Derby presents Rockshow, the 1980 concert-film by Paul McCartney’s Wings on Wednesday, May 15, at 7.30pm.

Filmed during the band’s famous Wings Over The World tour of North America in 1976, Rockshow features 30 songs from four concerts in New York, Seattle and two shows in Los Angeles.

Exclusively for cinema audiences, the film will include a pre-recorded interview with Paul McCartney that introduces the screening.

The British rock group was formed in 1971 by Paul McCartney, his wife Linda, drummer Denny Seiwell and guitarist Denny Laine. After a number of line-up changes, they split in 1981.

The band achieved 12 top Ten UK singles, including a number one with Mull of Kintyre in 1977, and had five consecutive albums topping the US chart.

Tickets are available now from the box office, online at www.showcasecinemas.co.uk, via the Showcase mobile app or on 0871 220 1000.

General tickets are priced at £10, with students and Insider members priced at £7.
