The “classic underdog story” follows Dusty Crophopper (Dane Cook), a crop duster who applies fertiliser at a cornfield but harbours high hopes to soar and compete alongside his high-flying heroes in an international race.

Dusty decides to enter for qualifiers in the Wings Across The World competition under the moniker Strut Jetstream and, despite being mocked for his lack of racing ability, he makes it through to the race with his flight manoeuvres.

The Lone Ranger (12A)

A Native American mannequin (Depp) magically comes to life in order to recount the story of the Lone Ranger to a wide-eyed boy (Mason Cook).

In hazy flashback, we join handsome lawyer John Reid (Armie Hammer) in 1869 Texas as he travels on the newly constructed railroad controlled by Latham Cole (Tom Wilkinson). Soon after, John is reunited with his brother, Texas Ranger Dan Reid (James Badge Dale), and pretty sister-in-law Rebecca (Ruth Wilson).

When outlaw Butch Cavendish (William Fichtner) escapes custody, Dan leads the search party and he reluctantly deputises John so they can spend quality time together.

Unfortunately, the chase ends in carnage and John wakes from a bullet wound to meet Tonto (Depp), a quixotic Commanche Native American, who also has good reason to want Cavendish dead.

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters 3D (PG)

Percy Jackson (Logan Lerman), son of Poseidon, is protected from harm at Camp Half-Blood by a mighty tree, which took root on the spot where Thalia (Paloma Kwiatkowski), daughter of Zeus, gave her life to protect three friends. The tree generates an invisible forcefield that repels evil, allowing only the chosen ones to enter.

In the aftermath of a tournament, a gargantuan bronze bull smashes the forcefield and rampages through the camp almost killing Percy.

Dionysus (Stanley Tucci) and centaur Chiron (Anthony Head) rush to Thalia’s tree and discover someone has poured poison into the bark, leaving the camp open to further attacks.

The only artefact which can restore the tree, is the Golden Fleece but this precious item lurks within the Sea of Monsters, otherwise known as the Bermuda Triangle.

Wolverine (12A)

The film opens with a flashback to 1945 Nagasaki, where Logan (Jackman) is held prisoner by the Japanese. As the bomb detonates, Logan protects one kind officer, Shingen Yashida, from the radiation blast - his mutant powers allowing him to recover almost instantly from the fireball.

Many years later, Logan is living alone in the woods, haunted by the death of Jean Grey (Famke Janssen). A swordswoman called Yukio (Rila Fukushima) tracks him down and asks him to accompany her to Japan to meet with the old and frail Shingen.

“He wants to say thank you for saving his life all those years ago,” she smiles.

Reluctantly, Logan agrees and he is shocked to find Shingen (Horiyuki Sanada) on his deathbed, under the constant surveillance of a statuesque medic (Svetlana Khodchenkova). Soon after, Shingen dies and the Yazuka attempts to kidnap beloved granddaughter Mariko (Tao Okamoto), who is poised to take over the family dynasty.

Logan rescues Mariko in the nick of time, and she develops deep feelings for her protector.
