Album shines spotlight on talent

The compilation album Acoustic Nights at The Bookcafe has been released this week, featuring 11 of the East Midlands’ top artists.

Brought to you by Furthest from the Sea and Derby-based The Bookcafe, the release aims to showcase the extraordinary array of musical talent in the East Midlands and also to raise funds for the furthest from the Sea festival 14, which takes place in June next year.

All the artists have given their services for free, as has the designer Matt Newton and Becky Ryan, a Derby-based photographer who shot a number of the photographs used for the CD including the front cover.

The album was recorded in a variety of studios across the region and mastered by Piggy back studios in Burton.

The release is a wide collaborative venture aimed at supporting artists throughout the East Midlands and continuing the work carried out by Furthest from the Sea and its army of volunteers.
