Charity starts up its own band

Ripley-based charity Disability Derbyshire Coalition for Inclusive Living has founded a singing group and band.

Vocalists and musicians are to perform a medley of Christmas carols and timeless classics at Alfreton Indoor Market on Friday, December 7, between 10.30am and 12.30pm.

With the smooth charm of the clarinet and a Santa on saxophone, this promises to be a fun show. The charity will also host an information stall, with books for sale and an exciting tombola.

Publicity co-ordinator Hannah Stirland said: “We’re always on the lookout for local talent. If anyone would like to join the choir or play an instrument, we’d really welcome them.

“It’s a friendly bunch of local people who get together and sing, create music and dance - all to raise funds for charity.

“DDCIL is a local charity, supporting local people. It’s a worthwhile initiative and it’s open to everyone in the community, so please come along and join us.”
