Curtain up at NSO’s concert

Nottingham Symphony Orchestra return to action on Saturday, May 17, at the city’s Albert Hall with a concert in support of Save The Children.

Conducted by Stephen Williams, the concert is entitled Curtain Up! and promises an evening of glamour, music and song from the world of stage and screen.

The programme is largely made up of highlights from some of the leading shows of the 20th century, including Les Miserables, West Side Story, Candide, South Pacific and Annie.

In addition, you can enjoy orchestral treats including Bernstein’s Three Dance Episodes from On The Town, Rodeo from Aaron Copland’s ballet Rodeo, Lehar’s Merry Widow Waltz, music from Bizet’s opera The Pearl Fishers and Ravel’s always popular Bolero.

For this concert, which starts at 7.30pm, the orchestra will be joined the Nottingham Operatic Society Chorus and Singers.

Tickets for the concert will cost £15 for stalls, £12 for arena (£1 reduction for seniors).

There is a £5 reduction for under 21s (side stalls and arena only).
