IF you fancy a pre-Christmas cracker of a show then get down to The Flowerpot in Derby on Friday, December 23, to see Queen tribute act Flash.
Formerly known as both Killer Queen and Queen On Fire, the band members have made a name for themselves thanks to their superb tribute to the enduring musical legacy of Messrs Mercury, May, Taylor and Deacon.
Flash seek to recreate the look, sound and overall unforgettable experience of a Queen live show, in a homage to one of the greatest and most successful British rock bands of the last 40 years.
Expect smash hits from all eras of Queen’s glittering and glorious career, all delivered by this highly talented tribute act.
On Monday, December 26, the King Street venue plays host to Are You Experienced with their Boxing Day tribute to the short but incredibly influential career of the one and only Jimi Hendrix.
The third top tribute act of the week drops in on Tuesday, December 27, when the Small Fakers pop by with their act celebrating the music of the Small Faces, as part of their Ogden’s Not Gone Fake Tour.
An old favourite returns to The Flowerpot on Wedneday, December 28, when blues ace Stan Webb and his band Chicken Shack make their latest visit to the venue, with support on the night coming from Matt Woosey.
Finally, the bumper week of musical entertainment comes to a storming end on Thursday, December 28, when the tribute act The Rollin Stoned – no strangers to Flowerpot audience members – drop by to celebrate the music of Mick, Keef and the boys.
Doors open at 8pm and admission is £10 for Flash, £9 (£8 concessions) for Are You Experienced, £10 for Small Fakers, £12 for Stan Webb’s Chicken Shack and £10 for The Rollin Stoned.
