FANS of the music of the late, great Rory Gallagher are in for a real treat when Gerry McAvoy’s Band Of Friends perform at The Flowerpot in Derby on Friday, March 16.
Billing themselves as A Celebration Of The Music Of Rory Gallagher, the three-piece Band Of Friends shines a light on the considerable musical legacy of Rory Gallagher, a man who found fame in many countries thanks to a string of classic rock/blues albums in the 60s and 70s.
If you fancy an exhilarating evening of folk-rock, then check out Merry Hell when they play at the King Street venue on Saturday, March 17.
Mixing male and female vocals, mandolin, electric guitars, bass, drums and keyboards, Merry Hell evolved out of acclaimed 90s folk/punk rockers The Tansads.
Some acclaimed reunion gigs led the members to branch out into something a little different and hence Merry Hell came into being.
Finally, the latest of the free Acoustic Wednesdays sessions in the bar take place on Wednesday, March 21, from 9pm, featuring a performance by bluesman Matt Woosey.
Doors open at 8pm and admission is £15 for Gerry McAvoy’s Band Of Friends and £8 for Merry Hell.
