New composition at Djanogly Theatre

A new work by composer Jocelyn Pook will mark Holocaust Day when it is performed in Nottingham’s Djanogly Theatre on Wednesday, January 27.

Drawing Life was commissioned by the Jewish Music Institute and is a multi-media work based on the collected poems and drawings of Jewish children from Terezin, published in a book called I Never Saw Another Butterfly.

Pook draws influence from the children’s creative spirit, interweaving songs with the children’s words, plus moving video images to create a powerful and poignant experience. The performance starts at 8pm.
