Over 90,000 are expected at fair

This year’s Chatsworth Country Fair is to take place from August 30-September 1.

Celebrating the best in traditional, British country pursuits and some spectacular showground entertainments, more than 90,000 people are expected over three days at the event, held in the picturesque Chatsworth grounds.

Highlights this year will include Mary Berry from the Great British Bake-Off in the cookery theatre, JCB’s team of Dancing Diggers, the musical drive of the Kings Troop, Royal Horse Artillery, and mounted games in the Grand Ring.

There will also be more than 300 trade stands, a fine food village, a traditional fairground and plenty of ‘have-a-go’ entertainment such as archery and fly-fishing on the River Derwent, and, the spectacular Red Arrows display team performing over the heads of the watching crowd on Sunday afternoon.

Spread over more than 100 acres of parkland, the three-day spectacle is open to all from 9am to 6.30pm every day with free entry for under 14s.

The Grand Ring this year features The Dancing Diggers, The King’s Troop Royal Artillery, mounted games, Scurry Racing, and freefall parachutists every day.

In the showgrounds, there is lots to see including cookery demonstrations, Highland dancing, hot air balloons, vintage cars, dog agility, lurchers, gun dogs and plenty more countryside entertainment.

The Fine Food Village has dozens of producers representing the very best in regional and artisanal food.
