Rolls-Royce has re-confirmed its commitment to Derby-based professional orchestra Sinfonia Viva – renewing its support for the orchestra’s innovative education and public concert work.

Support for the orchestra has been confirmed for a further three years – taking the unique relationship into its 21st year.

Rolls-Royce and Sinfonia Viva have worked together in a number of ways over the years, from support for concerts and educational residencies to company employees working with the orchestra on community-based projects and benefiting from arts-based training.

The education work supported across the region has involved thousands of young people, who have had the opportunity to work with and perform alongside Viva musicians on stage. The latest project was Moon, the spring residency education project which recently premiered in Derby. Rolls-Royce support also contributes to the Darley Park concert, the UK’s largest free outdoor classical concert.

Viva chief executive Peter Helps said: “Support from Rolls-Royce re-affirms the positive contribution that we continue to make to the cultural life of people across the East Midlands.”
