St Cecilia Concert at Southwell Minster this week

This year’s St Cecilia Concert in Southwell Minster sees a return to an in-house presentation featuring the Cathedral Choir, Minster Girls’ Choir and the Minster Chorale.

The concert, featuring Mozart’s Coronation Mass and Vivaldi’s Gloria, is at 7.30pm on Friday, October 17. and will be the start of celebrations to mark several milestones in the developing of the Music Foundation.

To attend this popular event, book your tickets through The Cathedral Shop on 01636 812933.

St Cecilia Concerts began in 1990 and have become a much–loved annual event.

During that time, they have raised more than £40,000 to support music at the Minster.

Paul Hale, Rector Chori at Southwell Minster, said: “This will be my 25th St Cecilia Concert at Southwell and I still look forward to them every year. The Minster is such a glorious place for music-making and to have all three of our choirs singing the most popular and accessible choral works by Mozart and Vivaldi will be a treat for me to conduct – and I hope a joy for the audience to listen to.”
