AN event entitled Hairpin Records’ Hullabaloo is to take place at The Queen’s Head in Belper on Friday, August 31.

There will be music on the night from Sunjay Brayne, who is rapidly developing into one of the best young solo performers on the English acoustic scene.

Aged just 18, his performances have been described as “mature and confident” while his guitar playing has been hailed as “superb, brilliant, experienced, intricate and faultless”.

Now a nominee for the prestigious BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award 2012, Sunjay is the first Anglo-Indian to emerge as a major talent since Hamich Imlach and Gerry Lockran in the 1960s.

Support on the night comes from The Roundheads and Calliope Ceilidh.www.hairpinrecords.co.uk

The Queens Head is based on Chesterfield Road, Belper, and tickets are £6 on the door, £5 in advance.
