Audition planned for Pan panto

Buxton Opera House will shortly be recruiting talented young actors for its 2012-13 production of Peter Pan.

The venue will be looking for 14 young male actors aged between 8-and under 5’ 7” in height to play the Lost Boys. This includes four young actors who will take the roles of Wendy’s brothers, Michael and John. The search is also on for 16 juvenile dancers (male or female) over 4’ 8” in height to dance and play a variety of roles includingmermaids and pirates. A small contribution towards expenses is payable for each performance.

Auditions will take place on Saturday, June 30, at Buxton Opera House and the theatre is inviting expressions of interest from young people (aged under 16 on January 1, 2013) wanting to audition.

The auditions take place place at 10am (Lost Boys 8-11 year olds), 11am (Lost Boys 12-15 year olds), 12noon (dancers 8-10 year olds), 1pm (dancers 11-13 year olds) and 2pm (dancers 14-15 year olds).

Rehearsals will begin with a weekend in October then run intensively from November 19-December 11 (some days away from school with permission will be necessary).

The show opens on December 12 and closes on January 1. The juvenile cast and chorus will be split into two teams so they can share the performances. All chaperones are fully CRB-checked.
