Auditions planned for Pan panto

AUDITIONS are to be held by producers Paul Holman Associates for young dancers to take part in this year’s Derby Assembly Rooms pantomime Peter Pan.

The production will star Larry Lamb as Captain Hook and George Sampson.

The show will be requiring girls aged between 7-11, maximum height 4’11” (Heights will be checked). They must be at least the equivalent standard of ISTD Grade One in Ballet, Tap and Modern and following a recognised syllabus (IDTA, ISTD, RAD etc) and should also have strong performance skills.

Girls attending auditions must be accompanied and must have a valid signed parental permission form. If they not attending with their own parent/guardian, this form can be obtained by emailing Fiona Watson and must be brought along on the day.

Please bring all relevant shoes and be prepared to stay for some hours if your child is recalled for the final

shortlist.

The production is also seeking boy actors to play the roles of John and Michael Darling and the Lost Boys.

All applicants must be enthusiastic, confident, disciplined and have clear speaking voices and some singing and dance ability. Boys between 7-16 may apply, but should not exceed 5’7” in height.

John and Michael will be required to fly in the production so should not have a fear of heights.

Successful children MUST be available for the whole of the rehearsal and performance period and must live within a maximum of 30 minutes traveling distance of the theatre.

They must be available for rehearsals from Saturday, November 24 until the opening of the panto on Wednesday, December 7 and be available throughout the run until Sunday, January 6.

Auditions will be held at Derby LIVE’s Darwin Suite, Assembly Rooms, Market Place, Derby, on Sunday, September 16.

Registration will be at 9.30am.

All successful applicants are subject to local education authority performance licensing. Children should only attend if accompanied by an adult able to give parental consent for participation and media coverage.

However, parental consent forms may be obtained in advance to allow one adult to bring a group of children if necessary, by calling the dance co-ordinator.
