THE Agatha Christie Theatre Company returns to the area for a production of Verdict, which can be seen at Derby Theatre from April 4 to 9.
The company is now in its sixth year and has won rave reviews around the country for its productions of works by the Queen of Crime herself, Agatha Christie.
Verdict is being hailed as one of the most riveting and compelling of all Christie dramas.
An all-star cast is led by Dawn Steele, best known for playing Lexie McDonald in the hit BBC drama Monarch Of The Glen and recently for her role as Alice Collins in the popular ITV series Wild At Heart.
She is joined by Robert Duncan, of Drop The Dead Donkey fame, and Ali Bastian, best known for her high-profile roles as Becca Dean in Hollyoaks and Pc Sally Armstrong in The Bill and who also reached the semi-finals of the hit BBC show Strictly Come Dancing in 2009.
The cast also includes Peter Byrne (Dixon of Dock Green), Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter films), Elizabeth Power (East Enders) and 60s pop idol Mark Wynter.
In Verdict, the brilliant Professor Hendryk leads a contented and morally upstanding life but his world is turned upside down when the prospect of life-saving treatment for his invalid wife persuades him to take on a new pupil against his better judgment.
Unfortunately, she is the spoilt, conniving minx Helen who will stop at nothing to get her way.
With murderous intentions afoot, it only remains to be seen what verdict will be delivered, and if justice will prevail.
Tickets to see Verdict cost £8-£21 and are available by calling the box office on 01332 255800.
