A DRAMA group was branded a ‘huge success’ after a series of performances at The Kimberley School.

Nottingham West Music and Drama Society (NOWMADS) staged Jack and the Beanstalk in front of packed audiences at the school throughout half term last week.

Amy Lishman played thigh-slapping hero Jack Trot and Steve Clarke was Dame Trot, his long-suffering mother.

Inspired by producer and choreographer Rosemary Lishman and musical director Lisa Downie, the cast of 30 performers wowed both the young, and young at heart.

Marton Belcher played Silly Billy Trot, Graham Lambert played panto baddy ‘Fleshcreep’, Haydn Taylor played Baron Bustagut, Kelly Wakefield played his daughter Marissa and Gillian Williams played Fairy Liquid.

NOWMADS next production will be the classical musical ‘Guys and Dolls’ which will be staged in October.

Steve Clarke and Gillian Williams pictured have collectively been in the group for 60 years.
