Christmas is covered for all ages at Derby Theatre this year.
With the festive season fast approaching, Derby Theatre is busy producing, preparing and placing the final touches on their two big family-friendly productions for Christmas.
Derby Theatre and Birmingham Stage Company will produce and present Horrible Christmas by Terry Deary, author of the phenomenally popular Horrible Histories series, in the main house from Friday, December 6, until Saturday, January 11.
It’s Christmas 2013 and something is not quite right. As children wait for Father Christmas, and all the presents are beneath the tree, a fat old man slides down their chimney and nicks the lot! Can this be the real meaning of old Saint Nick? Horrible Christmas is a hideous and hysterical look back through history, Christmas style.
Gary Johnson, general manager at Derby Theatre, and said: “After the sell-out success of two Horrible Histories stage productions at Derby Theatre earlier this year, we are extremely excited about this Christmas collaboration with world-renowned author Terry Deary and Birmingham Stage Company and feel honoured to be the venue who will present the world premiere production of Horrible Christmas.
Pinocchio, a magical festive adventure for families, is Derby Theatre’s second Christmas offering and will be presented in the Studio from December 9-24.
Presented in association with Hiccup Theatre, tickets are available on 01332 593939.
