Festival aims to make some big waves

Furthest From the Sea, the community festival of music, comedy and the arts is to take place on Saturday, June 29.

Spread across five different stages and featuring over 100 artists and performers, this day-long free festival is conveniently located in Derby Market Place and within the Derby Market Hall (Guildhall).

It includes live music and comedy, Derby Magic Circle, Bling Up Your Bike, a Punch and Judy show, photography and art exhibits, and The Police Experience.

Furthest From the Sea is a collective of artists, musicians, poets and comedians committed to a grassroots approach to creativity.

Based in Derbyshire and swelled by an army of committed volunteers, the organisers’ aim is to bring the performance of a lifetime to the very heart of your community.

They believe in the power of art to rejuvenate towns and cities, to bring people together and to celebrate and take pride in the place that means most to them.

The event is being brought to you with help and support of Derby Live, The Cathedral Quarter, Andy Potter, The Bookcafe, Foulds Music, MGD Audio, Higgledy Piggledy Jazz and Paper Gekko.

This event is supported by BSL Interpreters, co-ordinated by TheatreTerp.
