Injury causes gig’s cancellation

the forthcoming Think Floyd gig at Derby’s Assembly Rooms on Sunday, May 19, has had to be cancelled.

Event promoter Sweeney Entertainments has said that the band’s guitarist and anchorman Richard Morse has broken his wrist.

The statement said: “He will be in a cast for four weeks and will of course, be unable to perform for some time to come. It is with great regret that Think Floyd’s show at Derby Assembly Rooms has been cancelled.

“Richard and the band are extremely sorry to be disappointing so many patrons who had bought tickets but trust that all fans will realise that replacing Richard with another guitarist with the ability to do Dave Gilmour justice just isn’t possible at short notice.

“Whilst it hasn’t been possible to reschedule the show in this year’s programme, Think Floyd very much hope to visit Derby in the not too distant future. We all wish Richard well and hope he makes a speedy recovery.”

Customers who have purchased tickets are being contacted by the venue.
