Relive the magic of the silver screen when Gatepost Theatre Company perform their latest show at Derby’s Guildhall Theatre from July 3-6.

The show is called Gatepost At The Movies and sees the Loscoe-based group revisit sketches and songs from some of M.G.M’s famous musicals from six decades.

The show will take audiences on a movie tour from the fantasy world of Oz, to the arrival of the talking picture and onwards to meet with characters from Mid West America, New York and a finishing school in France.

With a vocal tribute to James Bond and a live band, this should be a night to remember.

Musical movies to be featured include Singin’ In The Rain, High Society, The Wizard Of Oz, Annie Get Your Gun, Fame and many more.

Formed ten years ago, Gatepost Theatre Company is an amateur theatre company specialising in drama, singing and dance, with members aged from 15 upwards.

The show also features children from Crich Junior School.

Gatepost kicked off March this year with their production of The Wedding Singer, which had fabulous reviews and was well attended.

Meanwhile, Gatepost have been nominated for another NODA Award for their production of Footloose The Musical, last year.

Musical direction for Gatepost At The Movies will be by Kate Baker with almost all of the direction by Kate and Jim Baker.

Tickets are £10.25 and concessions are £8.25. They are available on 01332 255800 or online at www.derbylive.co.uk www.derbylive.co.uk www.derbylive.co.uk www.derbylive.co.uk
