Broken Beauties, written by Jemma Uttley, is to be performed in the Derby Theatre Studio on June 25-26.
A powerful and moving musical exploring ‘Broken Britain’ with a sultry and often emotional tone, Broken Beauties, performed by University of Derby Theatre Arts students, is based around people struggling with day to day life.
Set in a burlesque lounge in the depths of Peckham, directors Jemma Uttley and Rebecca Ludgrove (who are also Theatre Arts students), have created an emotional and poignant piece of theatre which captures a real sense of today’s society.
Broken Beauties is a serious and hard-hitting musical, touching on sensitive issues within today’s modern society, aimed at ages 16-plus.
