Seagull will land at theatre

Derby Theatre will present Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull, from June 11-23, in association with one of the UK’s foremost theatre companies, Headlong.

The company is led by the multi award-winning artistic director, Rupert Goold, and the production is also in association with The Nuffield Theatre, Southampton.

The Seagull, considered to be of one of Chekhov’s four major plays, was written in 1895 and a high profile production of it featured in one of Derby Playhouse’s first ever seasons back in June 1976, which starred Derbyshire’s very own Sir Alan Bates.
