BBC Radio Two’s Ken Bruce is to be the guest presenter at Nottingham Philharmonic Orchestra’s next concert.
Entitled To Infinity And Beyond, it will be held at Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall on Saturday, January 26, running from 7pm, and will be conducted by Mark Heron.
The Nottingham Philharmonic Orchestra family concert is firmly established as a long running and well supported feature of musical life in the city.
In the past, guest presenters have included Brian Blessed, Hazel Irvine and Matt Baker.
This time, it’s the turn of one of the most recognisable and easy-on-the-ear voices on British radio.
Ken Bruce is a very popular radio presenter and will be using his dulcet tones to announce a wide and mouthwatering range of pieces on the space-related theme of To Infinity And Beyond.
In the year of his 80th birthday, the music of John Williams will be celebrated with music from the films ET and Star Wars to be performed.
You will also hear the movements Mars and Jupiter from Gustav Holst’s Planets Suite, Moon River, plus a whole galaxy of other favourites.
Tickets cost £7-£21 (concessions and family tickets available) from the box office at the Royal Centre on 0115 9895555.
