Brexit - Conditioned into a nationalistic view

I know I’m wasting my time pointing out the many benefits of the EU to people that always have their Brexit-specs on (e.g. Susan McEntee, last week); by the way, these negative-bias specs are mainly supplied, subconsciously, by the billionaires’ comics for grown ups: The Daily Mail, Sun, Express, Telegraph or Times; people are unaware they are wearing them.

Surely it’s time for something to be done?

With the precinct in Kimberley now starting to resemble the tube station in downtown Manhattan with the amount of graffiti mounting up and general look of disrepair, at least 20 broken slabs covered in chewing gum, most of the hanging basket brackets bent (car park excluded) can something now be done? Does the CCTV work?

Leg whack amounted to assault

I was on a tram at about 5.50pm today, Thursday going northbound out of Nottingham city centre and a woman came barging along the passageway between the seats (I was sitting at the end on the outside near the doors) with a trolley and hit my leg as she went past and bashed my bag.

Margot Parker MEP (Chad, August 8) is correct that a new unitary council for Nottinghamshire must protect and enhance local democracy if it replaces the current two-tier structure of county and borough/district councils, but the phrase ‘super council’ isn’t an accurate description of what a unitary authority would be.
