Former Boots store in Kimberley could become new restaurant and takeaway
New plans have been submitted in the hopes of turning a former Boots store in Kimberley into a restaurant and takeaway.
The former pharmacy in Greens Lane, Kimberley, is currently vacant but applicant Rudolph Howell hopes to change that by introducing a new takeaway or dining-in restaurant for the area.
According to the plans, the new restaurant would offer enough dining space to accommodate 22 people.
In plans submitted to Broxtowe Borough Council, applicant Rudolph Howell said: "The existing retail premises was for Boots the chemist, my proposed development is to convert it to food retail – takeaway or dining in.
"The development consists largely of one area of the premises dedicated to preparing meals, sectioned off by counters, and the other area dedicated for seating dining-in customers, up to 22 people.
"At the front of the store there will be a unisex disabled toilet with handwash facilities."
The future of the premises is now in the hands of Broxtowe Borough Council and plans will be considered by the planning committee soon.
