New community takes shape at site of old factory in Eastwood
There are only a few new homes remaining at the site of a former automotive factory in the town.
More than 70 per cent of homes have now sold at St Modwen Homes’ Lawrence Mill development located on the former Beamlight Automotive factory.
The automotive and train seating maker, which can be traced back to the 1930s, collapsed in 2012 and its old factory in Newmanleys Road was demolished over the subsequent years.
Since then, more than 150 homes have been built on the site.
The first homes were released in February 2020 and the development has proven to be so popular with home buyers that only 12 properties remain.
People can now choose between a mix of apartments, as well as a selection of two and three-bedroom homes, including The Mirin, The Webster, The Kemble and The Lawrence house types.
Joanne Winston, sales and marketing director at St Modwen Homes, said: “We’re not surprised by the level of interest we’ve seen at Lawrence Mill.
"This is a small and inviting development, with a fantastic location and excellent amenities, making it the perfect place to settle down.
“We would encourage anyone interested in joining the Lawrence Mill community to call our sales team and book an appointment while there are still properties available.”
