22 more coronavirus cases diagnosed in Nottinghamshire

Public Health England figures show that 55,340 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am on Wednesday (April 21) in Nottinghamshire up from 55,318 the same time on Tuesday.

Nottinghamshire's cases were among the 327,366 recorded across the East Midlands, a figure which rose by 167 over the period.

In Mansfield, the rolling seven-day infection rate to April 16 stands at 53.1 per 100,000 people – with the number of cases falling by 46.3 per cent.

However, the figure is still above England’s average of 24.8 and Nottinghamshire’s 25.4 – and remains the highest in the county.

Neighbouring Ashfield’s rate stands at 14.9 cases per 100,000 people, while Bassetlaw has experienced a 57.1 per cent hike for the previous seven days and has a rolling seven-day average of 46.8.

Elsewhere, Newark & Sherwood’s figure is just 11.4, Gedling’s 15.3, Broxtowe 11.4, Rushcliffe 10.1 and Nottingham City 31.8.
