Tony Leivers postcard

THIS unusual offering for Memory Lane is the reverse of a postcard sent more than 100 years ago.

It was sent to 10 Downing Street – the home of the Prime Minister – in the early 1900s, according to regular contributor Tony Leivers.

It is addressed to a Miss Head and has an Ilkeston stamp.

The note reads, ‘Just been enrolled and off to Derby about 10.’

It is signed: ‘Love from George.’

The reverse of the postcard is an Ilkeston scene.

Apart from that Tony knows nothing more about the mystery postcard.

He said: “If any of your readers can help me with any information again, I would be very, very grateful indeed.”
