BABBINGTON Rescue kennels are appealing for action after four pregnant Staffordshire bull terriers have been taken in by the centre in the past two months.
Sally was the first taken in. In December, she had five puppies all were well and recently re-homed.
Duchess was tied to the kennel fence on in January, she gave birth within 48 hours to four pups. She was very stressed and all the pups died within a few days.
Later in January Libby was taken in by the centre and had three pups. She was very young and thought the pups were toys, two died and the third is being cared for by staff.
Bonnie gave birth to five pups on February 13 but she has deformed teats and initially no milk.
Kennel owner Tony Sanderson said: “We will try but there’s not much hope for these lovely little pups.”
He added: “Please stop the madness with the bull breeds, get your dogs neutered and give them a good happy life.”
