Schoolchildren joined artist Richard Janes to help design a new archway at the entrance to Brinsley Recreation Ground.
The archway in Cordy Lane is in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Pupils took part in workshops to come up with ideas to reflect the jubilee and the history of Brinsley.
The arch features a crown and the Union flag at the top, six Tudor Roses for Queen Elizabeth II’s reign and the words Elizabeth 1952 and 2012 Diamond Jubilee.
The bottom of the arch has the pit wheels reflecting the heritage of Brinsley.
