PEOPLE are being given the chance to see Ilketon artist Rachel Carter at work as she displays her 100 Sphere Exhibition at the newly refurbished King George Gallery at Ormiston Ilkeston Academy.

The work, as well as Rachel’s macquettes and sketches for the piece, will be on show from 5pm to 6.30pm every day until Tuesday March 27.

“We’re really excited about this exhibition and it is ground breaking, the fact that Rachel will be creating the work whilst exhibiting it at the same time,” said Kate Le Prevost, Gallery Co-ordinator.

Rachel added: “The spheres that I create during the exhibition will be used as part of my main sculpture design for my stand at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show Stand which will be the biggest I‘ve produced to date. I’m really looking forward to the challenge.”
