Artists from Brinsley will be opening their studio doors to the public later this month.

Eight artists from the village will be taking part in the Notts Open Studios event this month, which has gained more and more interest over the last couple of years.

The range of art work being showcased this year is more diverse than ever and includes landscape artists, wildlife studies and pet portraits, digital art, collage, wood burning and fine art illustrations inspired by fairground culture.

Artist Jackie Ward said: “It’s really exciting that the event is growing in popularity. Last year five artists from Brinsley took part, and we attracted over 200 visitors, so to increase the number again is amazing.”

Jackie works from her Moor Road home, and uses irons and heat guns to melt and manipulate fabrics to create, beautiful textile tree scape pictures and cushions and other crafts.

As well as the opportunity to talk to, meet and buy from local artists, there is also the opportunity to watch demonstrations and even have a go at spinning.
