Two local artists will be opening their studio doors to the public in May.
Brinsley artist Jackie Ward of TreeHuggery, and Eastwood artist Elaine Thompson of the Wood Gallery, will be inviting people to see what they do as part of ‘Open Studios Nottinghamshire’.
Jackie Ward works from her Moor Road home, and uses irons and heat guns to melt and manipulate fabrics to create, beautiful textile tree scape pictures and cushions.
Elaine Thompson works from the Scargill Walk craft centres and uses the ancient art of pyrography (burning wood) to create stunning pictures, carvings and sculptures inspired by wildlife.
Their studios will be open to the public between 10am and 5pm May 11 and 12.
Jackie and Elaine are the only artists in the north of the borough taking part in the open studios event.
