A MAN has died after being bitten by a venomous snake in Eastwood.
Officers were called at around 2pm today (Wednesday June 29) to a property in Brookhill Leys Road, where a 45-year-old man had suffered a suspected heart attack.
It is believed he had received a bite from a venomous snake.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
He has been named locally as Luke Yeomans, who was due to open a King Cobra Sanctuary to the public on Saturday at a farm on the road.
Police said the snake has been contained and there is no danger to the public.
The RSPCA, Health and Safety Executive and Broxtowe Borough Council have been informed of the incident.
Nottinghamshire Police said an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death was under way.
