BUSES between Eastwood and Ripley and have been reduced down to one an hour and the secretary of the town’s tenants’ and residents’ association said it was not fair on passengers.
Phil Turner said the trentbarton Rainbow One service used to run twice hourly, but since the introduction of the new Rapid One service between Ripley and Langley Mill, Eastwood’s bus now just goes once an hour.
“People will struggle now,” he said. “The buses will be congested. If there’s pushchairs and wheelchairs you could be waiting two or three hours.”
A spokesman for trentbarton said: “When we did our research the number of customers making this journey was extremely low. We are sorry if anyone has been inconvenienced by the changes.”
