Cafe gets business award

The owner of a health food eaterie in Eastwood has won a prestigious business award.

Bob Dunn, who runs Dunn-Lite, was given a ‘Special Award’, recognising is ‘enormous’ and ‘extra-ordinary’ contribution to business over the years.

The award was one of 14 handed to businessmen across the East Midlands by the Institute of Directors (IOD).

East Midlands Regional Director of IOD Ron Lynch said the award was to ‘an entrepreneur, businessman, director and all round nice man’ who’s directorships ‘read like a who’s who of the travel and transport sectors’.

An audience of 120 business people gathered for awards ceremony, held at the Nottingham Conference Centre and compered by BBC East Midlands co-presenter Dominic Heale.

Mr Lynch said: “Our judges have been impressed by the drive and determination of all the entrants in what is still a testing economic environment. This has been an exceptional year in terms of the overall quality of entrants. It’s great to know that enterprise and good leadership continue to ensure business success here.”

The 14 winners will now go forward to represent the region in the national finals.
