Capture Life Thru Lens in photo contest

Shutterbugs throughout Eastwood and Kimberley are flooding the Advertiser with entries for our brilliant Specsavers Life Thru The Lens photographic competition.

But there is still plenty of time to get involved and be in with a chance of winning a top digital camera worth hundreds of pounds provided by sponsor Specsavers, of Bath Street, Ilkeston.

There is also a chance to change the style of your snap as autumn begins to bite.

Take some inspiration from these snaps taken by Frances Shaw, of Rolleston Drive, Newthorpe, of Dale Abbey Church (top) and a cheeky mouse in a birdfeeder taken by Roy Housechild,of Westmorland Way, Jacksdale.

Now we want you to get out and about with your cameras and smartphones and start capturing wonderful images.

The subject you choose is up to you, but we would love to see some shots of Eastwood and Kimberley landmarks or landscapes that sum up the area.

The only real limit is your ambition and creative flair.

The next step is to email or post your entry to us with specific details (SEE RIGHT).

The competition will run for several weeks to allow you to take advantage of the changing seasons to add atmosphere to your shots.

And we will showcase some of your entries each week in the paper and online.

Once the competition closes, a group of finalists will be selected before a panel of judges select the overall winner.
