Plans for a parish party in Greasley to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee have been given a £650 boost.
Cllr David Taylor who donated the money said: “I think we have really captured the Jubilee spirit of goodwill and I’m very proud. It should be a really special day.”
With the help of various community groups, Greasley Parish Council has organised a tour around the parish in a traditional red bus, a concert, games, entertainment, sports, competitions and fireworks.
The events on Monday June 4 will start at 7am and will go on until 11pm at night.
Residents in Moorgreen are having a scarecrow display and people are being encouraged to decorate their home, their garden or their car in festive colours.
