Eastwood and Kimberley’s chief NHS officer has called for residents to make realistic resolutions for a healthy new year.
Whether it is to lose weight, quit smoking or drink less, only one in 10 will actually achieve their goal.
Dr Guy Mansford, chief clinical officer for NHS Nottingham West CCG said that the new year was a good time to improve your health.
He added: “The most common goal is for people to want to lose weight.
“There really is one golden rule which puts all advice and diets into perspective - move more, eat less and make it a lifestyle change not a temporary fix.”
