Nottinghamshire County Council has changed some of its school transport policies.
The age range for special transport for students with learning difficulties or disabilities has been extended from 21 to 25.
For people with disabilities who want to develop their independence and travel to or from school using public transport, support is provided by an independent travel training officer.
The council’s Preferred Travel Scheme will also begin in September. This is a discretionary scheme allowing pupils to travel to a preferred Nottinghamshire County Council school, where transport is available.
