aN ALFRETON man hopes he hopped his way into the Guinness Book of Records.
Chris Bexton, 48, a duty manager at Alfreton Leisure Centre took part in a double World Record ‘Hopathon’ attempt at Hampstead Heath athletics track on Saturday, March 3.
The record-breaking bid was an homage to a scene from the 1970s television series Ripping Yarns, written by Monty Python stars Michael Palin and Terry Jones.
Chris, who applied to take part via a posting on FaceBook, met the ex-Pythons at the event where he filled in with a relay team who were missing a hopper, and completed a 100 metres’ hop. The results for the relay hop are now with the adjudicators.
