Confusion over air ambulance mail

AIR ambulance bosses are advising people to carefully check any mail that they may receive asking for donations to support an air ambulance service.

The advice has been issued after some residents in Nottinghamshire contacted the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance Charitable Trust (LNAACT) to say that they have received fundraising letters from the Derbyshire Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA), in which they claimed to be their ‘local’ service.

Peter Aldrick, LNAACT’s Chief Executive, said: “We are of course fully behind our colleagues at the DLRAA in their new fundraising campaign, as all air ambulances rely on the generosity of the general public. However, some of their mailings have obviously slipped over the county border.”
